Clinic Details (Infield)
Your child will learn the importance of ‘soft’ hands by utilizing professional infield drills and mechanics. Using the progression of no glove, to pancake trainer, to 9 inch trainer glove, to regular game glove will further emphasize the importance of seeing the ball into the hands and catching the ball on the palm, allowing for a quick transfer. My job as a coach is to give your child all the tools it takes to be their own coach. I also want to show them a few drills they can do by themselves or with a friend that does not require a personal trainer or even a baseball field. Finally, we will go over the mental approach it takes to be zoned in for 100 plus pitches at said position. The expectation and desire for the ball before every single pitch is what is the key here. Your child will have a blast and become a better ball player!
Hitting Clinic:
I preach the importance of utilizing your three largest and most powerful muscles while hitting; the glute, scapula, and quad and having your hands connected and supplemented by these muscles is a must for hitting the ball with authority. While loading, the hitter must feel like he is loading into the ground with his rear leg (externally rotating rear knee) in order to properly coil his back hip so that we have the most possible potential energy before driving it to the baseball. Your son will receive 1-1 swing analysis. We also offer film analysis where a player's swing is filmed and can be broken down in more detail with the player and parents after the clinic is finished. This gives the player and family swing 'homework'. Player specific exercises and drills will be provided to give your son the best post hitting routine.
I am a coach who believes that if I can make my players better people then they will become better ball players, and then I am really living out my purpose. I have a very thorough knowledge of the mental side of the game, and employ helpful tactics such as visualization, breath work, and positive self-talk to give our team an edge. I want all of our players to play fearless baseball. I also expect all-out effort and lead by example by always bringing positive energy to our clinics.
Thank you,
Pearce Wright
